Core Description

The Manager: Micro Electronics & Product will be responsible for leading the development and management of microelectronics and Automation products, solutions and the Project Management Office (PMO). This role involves overseeing the entire product lifecycle, from concept to delivery, ensuring that products meet client needs and industry standards. 
The manager will work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, sales, and customer support, Third Parties and Clients, to deliver high-quality, innovative solutions to high-performance companies. The Manager will further oversee PMO, oversee timeous and execution within budget of various Projects across various Clients.

Key Deliverables / Primary Functions

  • Contribute towards the development of Industrial Fuel Retail & Commercial solutions and help define the related IT strategy and roadmap to ensure the successful implementation of the strategy to achieve business objectives.
  • Lead the running and maintenance of Industrial Fuel Retail & Commercial solutions in alignment with high levels of quality, standards and operability.
  • Manage the development and implementation of processes and procedures to maintain or recover the delivery of systems and services in the event of any physical, technical or environmental disaster or major outage, providing continuity of service to customer.
  • Manage and/or oversee multiple, large-scale, concurrent projects to successful completion in accordance with scope, budget and service level agreements.
  • Develop and evolve implementation methodologies for standard and transformational programmes.
  • Develop new business and operating models that take advantage of new domains, functional, technology and information assets within the software area.
  • Manage the identification and mitigation of risk within related services.
  • Manage product profitability, directing and coordinating activities to achieve budget targets.
  • Promote and facilitate engagement between BCX Divisions and establish relationships and network with strategic partners, customers and vendors.
  • Product Development: Lead the design, development, and deployment of microelectronics products and Project Delivery.
  • Manage and mentor a team of engineers, product specialists and Project Coordinators.
  • Implement and maintain quality control processes to ensure all products meet industry standards quality.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends in microelectronics and IT, identifying opportunities for new product development and enhancement.
  • Work with external vendors and partners to source components and services, ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality.
  • Ensure the fulfilment of customer contracts and BCX contractual obligations are achieved in line with business requirement and/or SLA’s.

Minimum Qualifications

NQF 6: B Tech in Electronics Engineering, Computer Science or related field / Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
OR NQF 4: Grade 12

Additional Education -Preferred /Advantage

NQF 6 and 5 years of experience in managing Systems Engineering and Technology within an Octane environment, product life cycle development
Or:  
NQF 4 with a min of 7 years of experience in managing Systems Engineering and Technology within an Octane environment, product life cycle development
