Core Description

Ensures that BCX’s technology landscape is stable, secure, compliant, recoverable, and resilient in the face of operational, cybersecurity, infrastructure, platform, and service risks.

Key Deliverables / Primary Functions

  • Develop and maintain BCX’s Technology Resilience and Assurance strategy, frameworks, principles and operating model, ensuring enterprise wide alignment to risk, governance and operational standards.
  • Lead resilience governance across platforms, infrastructure, networks, cloud environments and critical business systems to protect service continuity and operational stability.
  • Oversee Disaster Recovery architecture, plan maintenance, testing cycles and reporting, ensuring alignment between recovery objectives, business continuity requirements and platform capabilities.
  • Conduct resilience risk assessments, control evaluations, technology audits and assurance reviews across the technology stack, driving remediation and strengthening control maturity.
  • Govern platform changes, upgrades, migrations and integrations to safeguard operational integrity and ensure resilience compliance across transformation initiatives.
  • Partner with Cybersecurity to align resilience controls with threat prevention, detection and response capabilities, strengthening enterprise protection and recovery readiness.
  • Lead major incident reviews, root cause analysis and resilience improvement programmes, embedding lessons learned into design standards and operational processes.
  • Provide executive reporting on resilience KPIs, compliance dashboards and operational readiness indicators, while supporting regulatory, contractual and audit obligations and fostering a culture of structured testing, capacity planning, redundancy and continuous improvement across BTE.

Minimum Qualifications

Three-year degree (NQF 7) in Information Systems, Computer Science or related field.
Postgraduate qualification in IT Governance or Risk Management is preferable.

Additional Education -Preferred /Advantage

Experience

  • At least Seven (7) years’ experience in IT resilience, operations, risk assurance, cybersecurity, DR/BCM, or platform assurance roles.
  • Proven experience managing DR programmes, resilience testing cycles, and technology recovery planning will be advantageous.

Certifications

Certifications in ITIL, COBIT, DR/BCM, ISO 22301, ISO 27001, or related assurance frameworks are advantageous.
Risk or audit certifications add further value.
Cloud certifications (Azure, AWS, SAP) are beneficial.
