Core Description

Responsible for ensuring effective financial governance, contract optimization, commercial performance, and service performance management across BCX’s technology ecosystem.

Key Deliverables / Primary Functions

  • Lead financial governance for BTE including budgeting, forecasting, cost tracking, investment planning and spend analysis, ensuring disciplined financial management across all technology services.
  • Align financial plans with technology strategy and service performance objectives, ensuring funding supports platform convergence, modernisation and XaaS priorities.
  • Oversee contract lifecycle management including renewals, amendments, negotiations and commercial validation in partnership with Finance, Legal and Procurement.
  • Drive vendor optimisation through structured scorecarding, performance reviews, contract assurance checks and commercial risk assessments.
  • Monitor service performance against SLAs, KPIs, OLAs and contractual commitments, enforcing accountability and transparency through defined governance frameworks.
  • Produce integrated financial and service performance dashboards and executive reports that enable informed decision making and early risk identification.
  • Identify cost reduction opportunities, waste elimination levers and commercial efficiencies across platforms, licensing models and vendor partnerships.
  • Conduct financial impact assessments for migrations, technology investments and transformation initiatives, while maintaining contract repositories, renewal pipelines and audit ready financial and contractual evidence, serving as a trusted advisor to technology leadership on commercial and performance risk.

Minimum Qualifications

NQF 7: 3 year Bachelors Degree in Finance or Business Management
OR NQF 4: Grade 12

Additional Education -Preferred /Advantage

Experience

  • At least Seven (7) years’ experience in financial governance, commercial management, contract management, or service performance roles.

OR

At least 9 years’ experience in financial governance, commercial management, contract management, or service performance roles.

Certifications

Agile or project management certifications beneficial.
Certifications in financial management, contract management, vendor management, or ITIL are advantageous.
CIPS, ITFM, or service management certifications add further value.

Professional Memberships in Relevant Industry

Level of Engagement & Span of Control

Level of engagement - Interact with similar levels, Executive levels, and various stakeholder internal and external to BCX.
