Core Description

Responsible for shaping, governing, and maturing BCX’s business design and value realisation capability by ensuring that technology investments, digital initiatives, and transformation programmes are strategically aligned, human centred, commercially sound, and supported by strong value governance.

Key Deliverables / Primary Functions

  • Lead the definition and governance of BCX business design frameworks including service blueprints, value chains, customer journeys and capability models to enable structured transformation.
  • Translate strategic objectives into executable design artefacts that guide technology, people, process and data decisions, ensuring alignment to digital transformation, cost optimisation, automation and XaaS operating models.
  • Establish value frameworks, measurement models and governance structures that track financial and non financial benefits, embedding value realisation discipline across BTE in partnership with Finance and Strategy.
  • Conduct opportunity sizing, scenario modelling and investment justification to support prioritisation of high impact transformation initiatives.
  • Lead a multidisciplinary team spanning business design, insight modelling, data science, innovation facilitation and rapid prototyping, setting standards aligned to global best practice.
  • Provide coaching, technical leadership and oversight of complex analytical and design engagements to ensure quality, consistency and measurable impact.
  • Guide innovation from ideation through concept development, experimentation and validation, ensuring human centred solutions aligned to enterprise priorities before scale or investment.
  • Oversee executive dashboards, modelling assets and decision support insights aligned to Microsoft Fabric, SAP, Salesforce and enterprise data governance, while enforcing compliance with architectural direction, governance frameworks and organisational standards.

Minimum Qualifications

Three-year degree (NQF 7) in Business Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.

Additional Education -Preferred /Advantage

Postgraduate qualification (MBA, MPhil in Corporate Strategy, Innovation, Digital Business, or equivalent) is preferable.

Experience

  • At least Seven (7) years’ experience in business design, strategy execution, consulting, value management, innovation, or digital transformation.
  • Strong exposure to digital strategy, enterprise transformation, customer experience, and AI enabled operating models preferable.

Certifications

Design Thinking, Service Design, or Business Architecture certifications
Prosci or equivalent change management certification
Strategy or value management certifications (e.g., APMG, VBHC)
Agile delivery or SAFe certification

Professional Memberships in Relevant Industry
