Core Description

This role is responsible to effectively manage contracts related to software licenses for the full cycle of agent contracting, in accordance with organisational guidelines. This position requires the ability to be able to prioritize, make independent decisions and produce high volumes of work while maintaining a high degree of accuracy to meet the customer’s requirement in line with SLA’s.

Key Deliverables / Primary Functions

  • Act as the SAM remediations team leader representative to manage and remediate unauthorised software on users’ devices, advising consumers of pricing, products, and risks.
  • Investigate and resolve internal and external problems by troubleshooting and conducting more research.
  • Identify opportunities for license optimization by analyzing software usage patterns, identifying underutilized or unused licenses, and recommending adjustments to license allocations or software deployment strategies to minimize costs.
  • Manage and track license reconciliations.
  • Demonstrate leadership skills and uphold performance standards, assist with cross-skilling and training of peers and new staff.
  • Update SAM tool with software licensing and contract information in line with SLA.
  • Prepare meeting presentations, reports and minutes for review by the ITAM Senior Manager.
  • Handle key procurement tasks such as obtaining vendor quotes, processing PRs and POs, renewal approvals and vendor negotiations, preparing SRCs/SCACs, deviations, supplier vetting, and memoranda.
  • Offer software license and contract management services, including license compliance for in scope contracts managed or supported by the BCX licensing team, and support license optimization activities.

Minimum Qualifications

NQF 6: 3 year Degree/ Diploma/ National Diploma in Technology or Computer Science
OR NQF 4: Grade 12

Additional Education -Preferred /Advantage

Experience

3 years’ experience in SAM licensing, Flexera and contract management, within a complex IT environment. Must have a good understanding of the Tier1 Vendor licensing models and have performed some SAM licensing reviews using Flexera. An understanding of various publisher licensing terms and metrics (Tier 1 vendors eg Oracle, TeamViewer) is also required.

 

Or

5 years’ experience in SAM licensing, Flexera and contract management, within a complex IT environment. Must have a good understanding of the Tier1 Vendor licensing models and have performed some SAM licensing reviews using Flexera. An understanding of various publisher licensing terms and metrics (Tier 1 vendors eg Oracle, TeamViewer) is also required.
